Thanks to Nikola Tesla’s patents, the construction of the Jaruga hydroelectric power plant and the parallel construction of transmission lines for the transmission of electricity, the first complete power system in Croatia was built. This made Šibenik the first city in the world to receive alternating current on August 28, 1895.
